Behavior Therapists

Job Description

Behavior Therapists are responsible for implementing the Treatment Program
directly with the child as detailed in the log book, for attending scheduled
clinic meetings, for arriving o­n-time, and for finishing when scheduled. Behavior
Therapists are required to record data for the programs that they are implementing
with the children and to write a summary note each time that they work with
a child. When providing services at a child’s home, Behavior Therapists are
responsible for having a family member sign the Daily Service Log at the end
of a session each time that they provide services for a child. For supervision,
Behavior Therapists report directly to the Lead Therapist (if included o­n the
therapy team) or to the Program Supervisor (if no lead supervisor is included
o­n the therapy team). At times, Behavior Therapists are required to provide
services in a Public School Setting (i.e., Public School classroom). The specifics
of how the program is to be administered in the Public School Setting varies
from child to child, so it is important to work closely with your supervisor
to determine a clear procedure. When working in the Public School setting, it
is important to follow all the regulations and procedures set forth by the school
and the site administrator (e.g., all Behavior Therapists are required to sign-in
upon arriving at the school in the Visitors log and to sign out when finished).
In the school setting, the classroom teacher becomes the immediate supervisor
of the Behavior Therapist. The Behavior Therapist is responsible for getting
the classroom teacher to sign the daily service log.

Qualifications

Behavior Therapist: Bachelors degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology,
Child Development, or Special Education. Eagerness to work with children with
disabilities. Willingness to be trained in a specific methodology and to be
a significant, contributing team member. Ability to accept feedback and benefit
from it and a will to be a team player. Basic word processing and Internet/e-mail
skills.

Salary

Depends o­n Education and Experience

Hours

Generally the hours of service for all positions (Behavior Therapist, Lead
Therapist, and Program Supervisor) range from 8:00am until 7:00pm Monday through
Saturday. o­n rare occasion, Sunday service may be necessary/desirable, and
very infrequently it may be necessary/desirable to work after 7:00pm.

Start Date

Starting dates for all positions (Behavior Therapist, Lead Therapist, and Program
Supervisor) are open year round and are limited o­nly by the schedules of the
prospective employee and the child’s therapeutic schedule.

Job Locations

We have positions available in the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley,
and San Gabriel Valley of Southern California.

In the near future, we anticipate having openings in West Los Angeles and in
the South Bay area of Los Angeles.

Lead Therapists

Job Description

Lead Therapists are responsible for implementing the Treatment Program directly
with the child as detailed in the log book, for attending scheduled clinic meetings,
for arriving o­n-time, and for finishing when scheduled. Lead Therapists are
required to record data for the programs that they are implementing with the
children and to write a summary note each time that they work with a child.
In addition, Lead Therapists are responsible for organizing the program book
and coordinating communication between team members when additions or changes
to program protocols are implemented. When providing services at a child’s home,
Lead Therapists are responsible for having a family member sign the Daily Service
Log at the end of a session each time that they provide services for a child.
For supervision, Lead Therapists report directly to the Program Supervisor.
At times Lead Therapists are required to provide services in a Public School

and to provide constructive feedback for Behavior Therapists. Basic word processing
and Internet/e-mail skills.

Program Supervisors

Job Description

Program Supervisors are responsible for developing Treatment Programs, providing
initial and o­ngoing training to the Lead and Behavior Therapists, insuring
that the Treatment Program is accurately implemented directly with the child
as detailed in the log book, attending scheduled clinic meetings, attending
IEP meetings, and for writing reports for IEP and other interdisciplinary meetings.
Program Supervisors are required to write a summary note each time that they
work with a child. In addition, Program Supervisors are responsible for organizing
the program book and coordinating communication between team members when additions
or changes to program protocols are implemented and for communicating those
changes to the families of the children with whom they are working. When providing
supervision at a child’s home, Program Supervisors are responsible for having
a family member sign the Daily Service Log at the end of a session each time
that they provide services for a child. For supervision, Program Supervisors
report directly to the director of CIBA. At times, Program Supervisors are required
to provide supervision in a Public School Setting (i.e., Public School classroom).

Qualifications

Program Supervisor: Masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (preferred),
Psychology, Child Development, or Special Education. For all degrees except
Applied Behavior Analysis coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis is required.
A complete understanding of the concepts of Applied Behavior Analysis. Organized.
Good communication skills. Ability to communicate with other team members effectively,
to assess and develop a treatment program for children, to coordinate all changes
in intervention programming, to develop future objectives, and to provide constructive
feedback for Behavior Therapists. The Program Supervisor will be required to
provide frequent progress reports to track program effectiveness. In addition,
the program supervisor will need to be able to develop and manage a schedule
for therapy teams, to coordinate team meetings, to train new Behavior Therapist
and Lead Therapist team members and to coordinate with the Director regarding
programming/scheduling/staffing. Basic word processing and Internet/e-mail skills.
